Shipping Methods by Min/Max Order Quantity For WooCommerce plugin

Overview #

The WooCommerce Order Quantities plugin allows you to manage product quantities in customers’ orders, on your WooCommerce site. It lets you to set minimum order quantities, maximum order quantities, quantity steps, decimal quantities, cart notices, and so on.

You can also set quantities for all orders, i.e., the total number of products in the cart, or set quantities on a per-product basis using the WooCommerce Order Quantities plugin.

Enabling Order Quantities #

To enable and use the Order Quantities plugin, you should first download and install Booster for WooCommerce.

  1. Navigate to WordPress Dashboard > Booster > Plugins > Shipping & Orders category
  2. Select Enable for the Order Quantities plugin and click Save Changes.

The WooCommerce Order Quantities plugin will be enabled for your site. Now, you can expand its settings and start using the plugin immediately.

Order Quantities Plugin Settings #

General Options #

You can manage product quantities in customers’ orders using this option. You can set minimum order quantities, maximum order quantities, quantity steps, decimal quantities, cart notices, and so on. Furthermore, you can also set quantities for all orders, i.e., the total number of products in the cart, or set quantities on a per-product basis.

 

  1. Enable the decimal quantities option if you wish to enter decimal quantities in the Minimum Quantity Options, Maximum Quantity Options, and Quantity Step Options tabs.

  1. For the Force Initial Quantity on Single Product Page option, you can choose from the available options, which are:
  • Do not force – Customers will not be forced to select an initial quantity on single product pages.
  • Force to min quantity – Customers will be forced to select a minimum quantity set for the product
  • Force to max quantity – Customers will be forced to select the maximum quantity set for the product.

Use this setting to specify if customers will be forced to select an initial quantity on single product pages.

  1. Select Enable for the Enable Cart Notices option to display notifications on the cart page.
  2. If you do not want your customers to visit the checkout page for the wrong quantities (as per your configured min/max/step order quantities), select Enable for the Stop Customer from Seeing Checkout on Wrong Quantities option. Customers will be redirected to the cart page in this case.
  3. Choose an option from the dropdown list to specify what should happen to variable products in your store. The available options are:
  • Do nothing – no action will be taken.
  • Reset to min quantity – product quantity will be reset to the minimum quantity set for the product.
  • Reset to max quantity – product quantity will be reset to the maximum quantity set for the product.
  1. Tick the checkbox for the Force on add to cart option if you wish to force customers to correct the quantity of the variable product selected when they click the Add to Cart button.
  2. Save changes and/or proceed to configure min/max/step for the order quantities in your store.

Min Qty (Minimum Quantity) #

  1. Go to the Minimum Quantity Options section.
  2. Enter/select the required values for the fields. Refer to the table below for field descriptions:
Field Description
Minimum Quantity – Enable section Specifies if minimum order quantity is enabled
Cart Total Quantity Minimum number of products that should be in the customers’ cart
Message – Cart Total Quantity Message that will be displayed if and when the total number of products in customers’ cart is less than the minimum quantity set for the cart. The values that will be replaced in the message are: %min_cart_total_quantity% – Minimum required cart total quantity%cart_total_quantity% – Actual cart total quantity
Per Item Quantity Minimum number of per product that should be in the customers’ cart
Add all quantities if quantity lower than the minimum quantity Specifies if the total number of the products in the cart will be considered when the quantity is lower than the minimum quantity set
Per Item Quantity on Per Product Basis – Enable Enable this option if you want to set the minimum quantity for individual products.

 

 

Message – Per Item Quantity Enter the text to be displayed as a warning to the user when the minimum quantity condition is not met.  The variables that add to this field are:

 

%product_title% – current item title
%min_per_item_quantity% – Minimum required current item quantity.
%item_quantity% – Actual current item quantity.

Min Qty > Per Item Quantity on Per Product Basis #

If this field is enabled, a meta box will be added to the edit page of all the products. Navigate to the Products page, edit the value for the Minimum Quantity field in the Booster: Order Quantities meta-box on the product details page, and select Update to save/reflect changes.

Max Qty (Maximum Quantity) #

  1. Switch tabs in the Order Quantities plugin settings to open Max Qty tab.
  2. Enter/select the required values for the fields. Refer to the table below for field descriptions:
Field Description
Maximum Quantity – Enable section Specifies if maximum order quantity is enabled
Cart Total Quantity Maximum number of products that should be in the customers’ cart
Message – Cart Total Quantity Message that will be displayed if and when the total number of products in customers’ cart is more than the Maximum quantity set for the cart. The values that will be replaced in the message are: %max_cart_total_quantity% – Maximum required cart total quantity%cart_total_quantity% – Actual cart total quantity
Per Item Quantity Maximum number of per product that should be in the customers’ cart
Check Product Quantity Forcefully Specifies if customers should not be allowed to add products to their cart if they have already reached the max quantity limit set for the cart
Per Item Quantity on Per Product Basis – Enable Enable this option if you want to set the maximum quantity for individual products.

 

 

 

Message – Per Item Quantity Enter the text to be displayed as a warning to the user when the maximum quantity condition is not met.  The variables that add to this field are:

 

%product_title% – current item title
%min_per_item_quantity% – Minimum required current item quantity.
%item_quantity% – Actual current item quantity.

 

Max Qty > Per Item Quantity on Per Product Basis #

If this field is enabled, a meta box will be added to the edit page of all the products. Navigate to the Products page, edit the value for the Maximum Quantity field in the Booster: Order Quantities meta-box on the product details page, and select Update to save/reflect changes.

Qty Step (Quantity Step Options) #

  1. Select the Quantity Step Options tab.
  2. Enter/select the required values for the fields. Refer to the table below for field descriptions:
Field Description
Quantity Step – Enable section Specifies if the product selection in decimal quantities is enabled
Step Enter a value to accept only its multiples (item count) as the customer’s cart item count
Per Product – Enable Enable this option if you want to set quantity steps for individual products.
Additional Validation – Enable Specifies if additional validation is enabled
Message Enter the text to be displayed as a warning to the user when the Qty Step condition is not met.  The variables that add to this field are:

 

%product_title% – current item title
%min_per_item_quantity% – Minimum required current item quantity.
%item_quantity% – Actual current item quantity.

Qty Step – Per Product #

If this field is enabled, a meta box will be added to the edit page of all the products. Navigate to the Products page, edit the value for the Quantity Step field in the Booster: Order Quantities meta-box on the product details page, and select Update to save/reflect changes.

“Single Item Cart” Options #

  1. Switch tabs in the Order Quantities plugin settings to open “Single Item Cart” Options.
  2. In the “Single Item Cart” Options section, enter/select the required values for the fields. Refer to the table below for field descriptions:
Field Description
Enable “Single Item Cart” Mode Specifies if customers will be allowed to add only one item to their cart, for each transaction. If this field is enabled, the quantity of the item will not be checked.
Message The message that will be displayed if and when there is more than one item in the customers’ carts
  1. Click Save Changes.

The WooCommerce order quantities will be set.

Output #

A cart with a notice being displayed when the user has not added enough items to the cart (The current order quantity is 1, while the set minimum order quantity is 3 for this case.)
