Yes I know I can manually download it and upgrade it manually, but my question is still not answered “What is going on with your update server?”

As you can see from my original posting, I have already updated to 7.1.0 and that is what is causing the issue (as others have also reported).
Please make 7.0.0 available your customers via their account portal, so that we (that wish to) can roll back from 7.1.0 to 7.0.0.
Update: Managed to fix it by changing the session type to WC Session from PHP Session (although 7.0.0 worked fine with PHP Session and Close Session ticked).
