PRODUCT ADDONS – The “Is Required” option doesn’t work

I defined the checkbox as a “Is Required” field, but in practice you can add the product and proceed to payment without checking the checkbox

Why it let me to add the product to the cart without checking the checkbox? (The checkbox is required. I defined the checkbox as a “Is Required” field)

It works with regular product. A product with variations does not work.
Is there a way for it to work even with products with variations?
