Automatically add products to the cart

If you only sell one product on your online store, you might want to automatically add it to the customer’s cart. This saves the customer from having to find an add to cart button and adding it to their cart manually. Stores that are promoting a specific product might also want to automatically add products to the cart.

Now that customers don’t have to add the product to their cart themselves, they can proceed to the checkout page faster. This can benefit your business by helping you make sales faster and reduce the chances of them abandoning their shopping cart.

In this article, we’ll show you how you can automatically add products to the customer’s cart using Booster’s WooCommerce Product Add to Cart module.

Let’s put everything into context before we begin.

Why automatically add products to the cart?

If customers don’t have to add products to the cart, you can save them a lot of time in making a purchase from your WooCommerce store.

In simple words, you can speed up the purchasing user flows on your website by eliminating the add-to-cart step and proceeding straight to checkout. Additionally, this can encourage customers to browse more products in your store.

By automatically adding products to your customer’s cart, you remove friction from the purchasing process. Customers will be able to select and purchase products from your WooCommerce store in just a few clicks.

Let’s take a look at some examples of businesses that might benefit from this:

  • Apparel stores. Apparel stores can benefit from automatically adding products to their customer’s cart. Generally speaking, apparel stores sell products such as hats, t-shirts, hoodies, caps, and belts. Customers visiting your store already have to buy clothes, so adding them automatically to the shopping cart when they visit a single product page can speed up the purchasing process.
  • Sports and fitness stores. Stores that sell only sports and fitness equipment can benefit from this as customers visiting your online store only need to buy sports equipment. Adding a fitness bag or yoga mat to the customer’s cart automatically can help you boost your average order value.
  • Grocery stores. Stores that sell grocery items may find it useful to automatically add featured products to their customer’s cart. For example, if you’re offering a deal on orange juice or milk, you can automatically add it to the customer’s cart. It’s a great way to boost product visibility and encourage customers to try out new products.
  • Membership sites. Membership sites that have a single membership plan to offer to users may find it useful to automatically add the product to the customer’s cart. Similarly, if your store sells a mystery box that contains a combination of products or a shaving kit subscription box, you can automatically add it to the customer’s cart when they land on your website.

Using the Booster Plus plugin, you can set all of your products or selected products to automatically be added to the customer’s cart when they land on the single product page.
